Tenkara101 is all about sharing the minimalism and joy of tenkara fishing. Here I will post my experiences with Tenkara, gear reviews, and techniques related to Tenkara!

I started fishing tenkara style in 2022. I was looking for a minimalist fishing setup that I could bring everywhere, not take up space, and not have too much gear! Tenkara fit the bill pretty easily, as I just fish with a tiny pack for one Tenkara rod, spare flies, spare line, and fishing permit. I fish with the same gear as long as I'm in freshwater!

I am based in Northern California, in the SF Bay area.
